Responsibilities
- Description - The Pega Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining a stable and responsive Pega platform in support of model-driven, enterprise-level business solutions and applications
- This person will ensure the platform is managed effectively to support the delivery of Pega solutions that will enhance user experience and optimize the daily job activities of business customers across multiple business domains
- This person will be a guide for processes and technology interfaces while using Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Preferred Qualification - Experience with Pega 8.x in providing technical training and support
- Familiar with SmartBPM or similar development methodologies
- Experience working in environments with regulatory compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, etc.)
- Previous experience in Pharmacy Benefit management or health care industry
- Understanding of security implications of domain
- Experience in greenfield development and architectural design
- Strong understanding with specific technology relevant to the team
- Pega 8.x framework and best practices
- Pega robotics
- Hadoop ecosystem with experience concerning Pega applications
- Ability to manage work direction and lead, influence, mentor, and provide feedback to others within the team
- Ability to transition abstract concepts into stable and supportable software solutions while using robust and scalable, including Pega best practices
- Strong problem-solving and analysis skills
- Strong traits of decisiveness and judgment
- Excellent documentation skills
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; High School diploma or GED is required
- Pega CSA certified, LSA preferred
- 5+ years of work experience as a Systems Architect in the dDesign, dDevelopment, mMigration, dDeployment and iIntegration of Pega Rules Process Commander (PRPC) and Java/J2EE
- 5+ years of extensive technical experience with infrastructure areas including Linux LS
- 5+ years of work experience with application development that includes experience with PRPC, SmartBPM methodology, Java, J2EE, SOAP, RESTful, Spring, Hibernate, DB2, and SQL
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for a work visa or residency sponsorship
Responsibilities
- Consult and assist Pega application development teams in adding new capabilities, researching issues and education on Pega features and capabilities
- Establish deployment procedures, release management strategy and generate detailed release notes with completed, detailed instructions
- Install Pega Rules Process Commander (PRPC) and configure the Pega PRPC system according to PRPC System Admin Guide
- Evaluate merits and risks of upgrades; coordinating with appropriate staff to execute the smoke test for deployed applications
- Responsible for generating appropriate system-level documentation and knowledge base training documentation, deployment guide, system monitoring build guide, smoke test guide, etc.
- Ensure all applications developed to have a high degree of integrity, reliability, and availability to meet the requirements of the online transaction processing environment
- Mentor developers in the interpretation of Pega architectural principles and the application of Pega technologies and robotics
