Data Scientists Analysts

Position Description:

The Strategy and Sustainability group within GDI&A supports analytical solutions & insights across the enterprise in areas like Sustainability, Environment & Safety Engineering (SE&SE), Enterprise Product Line Management (EPLM), Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and others. The Data Scientist identifies & formulates a business problem through engagement with business partners & domain experts and develops solutions such as optimization & machine learning for the identified high impact problems. The successful candidate discovers & curates new & existing data sources to create insights for the business. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize the latest tools & methods in Statistics, Big Data, and Data Science to solve a variety of business problems. The role spans the full project lifecycle from analytic problem definition, through data gathering, analysis, model development, reporting/visualization development, testing, and operational deployment. Responsibilities: • Acquire deep understanding of the business problems and translate them into appropriate business solutions • Collaborate internally & externally to identify new & novel data sources and explore their potential use in developing actionable business results • Drive development & delivery of analytic & statistical models using skills such as data acquisition & management, algorithm design, and model development & refinement • Work with business partners using a collaborative, agile approach to develop solutions rapidly that add value and are centered around the user experience • Develop mathematical, analytical, optimization and/or AI/ML models to support evidence-based decision making. Ensure overall quality of the data & solutions throughout the analytic development process • Examine, interpret & report analytical results in both written reports and in oral presentations to varied audiences

Skills Required:

• Strong python coding skills • SQL and SQL server experience • Visualization experience (Qlikview, Qlik Sense, Tableau, etc.) • Data gathering skills (Hadoop, Spark, Alteryx, etc.) • Mathematical programming, data mining, statistical analysis, and/or machine learning skills •Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Skills Preferred:

• Experience collaborating with business to develop strategies and innovations to solve complex business problems • Experience with SQL Server • Developed and implemented Machine Learning models

Experience Required:

• 1+ years of experience in mathematical programming, data mining, statistical analysis, and/or machine learning •1+ years of experience with one or more of the following tools: Data Gathering skills/tools (e.g. SQL, Hadoop, Spark, Teradata, Alteryx, etc.) • 1+ years of experience with Visualization skills/tools (e.g. QlikView, Qlik Sense, Tableau, etc.) • 1+ years of experience in Python programming and using ETL (Extract, Transfer, Load) tools • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Experience Preferred:

• 2+ years of experience collaborating with business to develop strategies and innovations to solve complex business problems • 2+ years of experience in developing with Python • 2+ years of experience with SQL Server • 2+ years of experience working on large datasets and Big Data Tools (Hadoop Spark, Hive etc.) (including internship/coop/course work) • Developed and implemented Machine Learning models • Ability to drive results and handle multiple projects within a given timeframe • Well-organized, independent and ready to work with minimal supervision •Inquisitive, proactive, and interested in learning new tools and techniques • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and innovative environment where problems are not always well-defined

Education Required:

• Master’s Degree in Data Science/Analytics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or other related fields
